HST Gonzo Hard Hat

The Gonzo Hard Hat is a rare artifact from the building of the Gonzo Monument in 2005. The event jefe, Steve Cohen, had just a few of them made, and gave me this one which I wore proudly while covering the construction of the 153 foot monument for Hunter’s funereal blast off and party. Rock and roll photographer Lynn Goldsmith got a rare smile when she called me “Gonzo Man” for this portrait. The Hard Hat has about two inches of missing finish on one edge 
from being raked against the guy wires steadying the monument. At least I didn’t knock it down. The Gonzo Hard Hat comes with a free DVD of my film “When I Die” about the monument.
